I still don't understand how it won so many goty awards when its gameplay was trash, story forgetable and rpg elements miniscule.

Everything. Combat was good, gameplay as well, it was comfy, nice party, awesome ost (shame it didn't play while exploring); nice plot until near the end but the last dlc fixed it.

Solas was a pretty good character. Aloof and sometimes too much confident, but a real bro if you got to know him and respect him and in the end he is torn between his duty and his new friends.

Mythal is gonna be the true bad guy, by the way

I think it's bad in a charming kind of way. Like the Xena and Hercules series. It had some good scenes and I liked Cullen. I'd give it a 7.5/10.

It started as an average experience, but it ended on a good note thanks to the last two expansions
