Absolutely, its the game of the decade until cyberpunk comes out.
Combat is great, only autists think its bad. If you want souls-like experience go with the highest difficulty.
Buy both DLCs, hearts of stone story is great, blood and wine is like another full game.

I will give you my honest opinion.
Before Witcher 3 came out I played Witcher 1 for like 10 hours and Witcher 2 for like 2-3 hours. I though they are terrible, boring, the RPG elements didn't make it for me and the Story somehow didn't connect for me.

The Witcher 3 came out in 2015 and I am a die hard Bloodborne fan, back then when W3 was choosen as GOTY I still remember shitposting on /v/ about it, I seriously though Witcher 3 is reddit the game. I used the Webms with the buggy shitplay to "prove" that W3 is shit. This last summer sale I bought the GOTY for 25€ and wanted to give it a try. The world looked awesome and I checked some Youtube videos, I though if it's shit after 1 hour I will refund it.

53 hours in and I can't get enough. Witcher 3 is probably the best PC port in the last 10 years, it offers so much customisation, an extremely pretty engine and mods. FREE DLC, actual DLC that you can call an Expansion not just some armors and skins. The devs really care about the game patching gamebreaking bugs and punishing people who try to cheat (Cow God).

If you can find the GOTY Edition for >30bucks give it a try.

yes, the story is great and the gameplay and combat are fun. after a while, it gets repetitive as fuck, if you're a completetionist. once you do the main story, there are side quests to do, and those can some-what be repetitive, but aside from that it was really fun for me. also really beautiful cranked up to max, and mods as well.

It's genuinely pretty great, story and characters are quite good. Unfortunately it has a rather ubisoft-tier designed open world. And combat gets repetitive.
