>£35 for a piece of DLC
Is this the most expensive expansion pack ever? Why didn't they make it standalone?
>>388653831
Expansions are almost always in the $40 range.
>>388653831
Great thread my uninformed dude!
>>388654018
They were always in the $20 range you underage faggot.
>>388653831
>Why didn't they make it a standalone?
The devs stated the expansion was very nearly xcom 3 and it shows. There's a hell of a lot of new content, probably on par with the base game.
>>388654018
Traditionally, "full priced" PC games were £30 in the UK. I've never seen £35 for an expansion pack before.
>>388654146
yeah they're talking out their ass to make more people buy it
>>388653831
Because unlike the other DLCs, War of The Chosen has much more than a couple of new things.
>>388654018
Try 20
>>388654125
You have no idea what you're talking about.
>>388654018
Examples? Don't remember paying $40 for Half Life Blue Shift, GTA London or Diablo Hellfire back in the day
I'm pretty sure some Japanese geimus have tried to sell $50 vanity DLCs, but that's because they think gaijin will actually accept prices they rip otaku off with.
There have tons of expansions that cost more, you crazy faggot.
You will buy it fucking goy.
/vg/ general is ran by firaxis employees but so expect heavy shilling
>>388654018
Wasn't Enemy Within like 20 or 30 on release?
>>388655062
Name ONE expansion that cost more than £35.
>>388653831
>What is WoW
Now fuck off.
>>388655208
a shit game?
>>388653831
>£
Stop pretending this is not Monololy money.
>>388655208
WoW expansions were £25 or £30 in the UK
itt
>i am 12 and what is this OP doesn't remember actual expansion packs
>>388653831
It literally makes the game almost XCOM3 desu senpai
this is an offline game that doesn't have denuvo
stop bitching and pirate it you fucking cuckfags
>>388653831
>locking the performance fixes and shorter loading times behind a $40 price tag
nah, fuck that, I'm pirating
>>388653831
Stormblood or whatever shit SE shat out for XIV is more expensive by 10 shekels. WotC is worth 40 shekels anyway with the amount of shit they added.
>>388653831
They need to please the eldritch money hole in the firaxis offices, lest it consume them all.
I could really use a quick rundown on this dlc
>>388654125
I have in terms of mmo's expansions have been 40- at least that's my experience with playing FFXIV for a few years now.
>>388654018
nope, not at all. impressively wrong
>>388654207
maybe 6 or 7 years ago
nowadays companies are really pushing it. Big major releases are coming out at 40, even 50 pounds
>>388659407
MMOs are different and the fanbase playing them is cancer to begin with. You aren't paying for the content. You are paying for the social experience and a slight variation on what you've been grinding for 5,000 hours which normal people don't do.
Single player expansions have always been no more than $20.
>>388657823
elders bow to bogdanovs
>>388654125
>Calls someone a under age faggot
>Doesn't know what inflation is
Well better that anon be underage than a fucking idiot.
At least the base game isn't such garbage it is unplayable without an expansion and you didn't get suckered into buying one game for the price of two
>>388654125
lord of destruction was 40 bucks
I have XCOM 2. I loved the first game (new gen one), and I bought the second one instantly.
But the game suffered from heavy FPS drops even though my computer is decent. Is it better now?
Also, the game has several DLCs, are they worth it or should I only buy war of the chosen?
The only reason it isn't a "standalone" sequel is because it uses the engine and all of the assets from XCOM2. It just adds a metric fuckton of new content to the point where it barely feels like XCOM2 at all. I've played for about six or seven hours and I literally haven't played a vanilla mission type or map yet after the prologue.
>>388665580
Is it still the same story though? They just changed the enemies / missions?
>>388666041
the story is slightly changed but not significant
>>388664168
WOTC adds a bunch of optimization to the game and runs smoother but it isnt included in the base game.. Thats some paradox levels of bullshit.
>>388664168
XCOM2 is far more stable now than it was at launch, the DLCS are alright, I'd get them on sale if I was you as they don't really add much.
>>388664168
XCOM 2 runs at a stable FPS now but there are still lots of hiccups between maps
