I accepted that base game would be Awakening+Fates+Marth a long time ago.
What gets me is that the actual -game- looks bad, both from a visual and gameplay prospective. Hyrule Warriors looked leaps and bounds better than this. Everyone in that game had a unique moveset and played extremely differently, where from what I've seen of this everyone who uses an axe swings in the same way with the same kind of moves.
The fates trailer particularly left a bad taste in my mouth because they had all the characters copy their pose from the actual game, and looked tons worse than the cutscenes in the 3DS. Camilla does a hair flip and her hair stays static for christ's sake.
A daggers and shuriken user(s) could have been cool, but we're not getting them. I would have liked to see if they could make staff users offensive, but we're not getting that.

I'm sure the game will sell well. Would do better not releasing so close to Mario but i doubt it will bomb. Both Fates and Awakening sold extremely well and have a good amount of fan favorite characters. So i think it will do fine

I hate this game

It should have been so fucking easy. In fact, they had me. They started with a video showing fucking nothing, but the fact that it was a FE musou game was enough. At that time, I was a definite purchase. Then every single thing about it after that made me lose interest. Here we are now, and I think it looks like an unpolished piece of shit. Enemies getting stuck to an axe, Camilla and Hinoka awkwardly flailing their weapons at air, poor enemy spawns, a focus on just three games, OC sword lords, the complete lack of doubt that there will be even more fragmented DLC than Hyrule Warriors . . . This game looks fucked, and I'm not buying it.

I actually think that's a first for me. I see a game reveal and either think immediately that it's a purchase, interesting and worth watching, or something I'll never want. Never before have I actually started at definite purchase and been moved to definite pass by such blatant ineptitude.

That kinda stuff bugs me. Especially when it came to SMTxFE. Most of the SMT mainline protags are mutes outside of a few lines of short character dialogue, or cameos in other games. Which means they have to improvise, and most of the time it doesn't end well.

I would argue that Awakening was responsible for future decisions as well, like Mila's Turnwheel. By streamlining the game, and having good marketing as well as presentation, Nintendo has ensured its success. Echoes being a aberration for obvious reasons.

You know, when they announced that this game was only Awakening, Fates, and Shadow Dragon, I was a bit disappointed, but I had favorite characters in those games that seemed to be shoe ins so I was quite eager because of that. But, because of relationships and story presence there is no hope. No playable Anna, despite being the closest thing to a mascot, no Walhart, most popular Awakening antagonist, no Camus, another highly popular and influential character, no Whitewings, the forerunners of various archetypes and creators of the triangle attack, a series stable, no Gordin, no Caeda, no Oboro, the most popular no royal female, nothing of the sort. They're not even done announcing character's but we know those won't make it in because of their comments on the roster. The constant laughter in their interviews must be nervous laughter, as I can't see how anyone can be proud of this game at the moment.

but that's about it for the characters I actively like on this roster. The OCs are trash. The fates royals were always trash. chrom/lucina/lissa/fred are tolerable but not interesting. I don't really want to get this game since I dislike most of the roster, but I know I will anyways...
