>>388628076
I just finished pic related, it was kinda fun but very disapointing and shallow
Are there pc racing games that do the grindy racing thing? (Buying shitty car, improve it, buy a new one, etc) Like NFS and Gran Turismo on the PS2...
>>388628610
nice little story you've crafted there, is life easier when you play pretend and wrap up the actions and motivations of others in a neat little package?
>>388628610
what the fuck was all that anon
don't skip on your autism pills okay?
>>388628489

someone selling stock photos figured someone might need a picture like that, is all
SPEEDY SPEED BOY
>>388628735
>>388628754
Lurk moar faggots
>>388628076
I don't really like racing games that much but Flatout: Ultimate Carnage was my shit back in the day.
>>388628703
Second this question? The original NFS Most Wanted is my favorite of all time because of this. I was thinking of picking up The Crew, but it seems pretty fucking memey.
>>388628076
What the fuck that's a tollgate
>>388629438
The crew is really bad man i got it dor free from ubi and never touched it excwpt for once
Play Sonic All Stars Racing and porate that shit if you really want it.
The forza horizon series is pretty fucking good desu senpai
>>388628316
I agree
Is gran turismo good?
>>388629536
The man is offering his passenger beer while making a u turn because he doesn't have money for the toll not hard to understand
Redout is really fucking sweet, such an overlooked game though. I'm interested in trying other AG racers, shame the genre seems mostly dead.
>>388629742
the real vacuum cleaner simulator
>>388628316
Yeah shits great who thinks anyone is gonna need shit like this
Stuck between Redout or Wipeout.
>>388629810
Oh sweet a fellow fan
Might try wipeout HD/Fury collection or the recent omega collection, they're pretty good
also what's your favorite team? I find myself a Lunare loyalist, tier lists be damned
>>388630234
Lunare is literally the only team I race with. They've got such a good balance between handling and speed, boost and energy by damned. They're also not made of paper like Suhla vehicles.
>>388628076
Ridge Racer Type 4.
>>388630568
holy shit, saved
>>388630531
yeah for the life of me I can't manage to deal with the sulha's love for drifting, shit aint initial d man. Doesn't help that the AI knows you're fragile and takes turns pit-maneuvering you when you pick sulha.
Though there was this one level in the career really late, on neptune/mobius speedway, where the ai had hilariously inflated stats and for some reason I just couldn't beat it at all unless I picked conqueror. No clue on that one
Need for Speed '15 unironically.
I love the customization, the garage, the soundtrack-ish, the map, and the live action cutscenes.
But most of all, the drifting is so much god damn fun. It's the perfect difficulty, where it's not automatic drifting like Initial D, but it's not like trying it on in a racing sim. The sound design and effects make it feel amazing, and the way drifting is incentivised in every game mode through road design, scoring, and the physics is masterful.
The celebrity obsession is a bit grating though, while the monster product placement is just hilarious.
>>388628076
Speedrunners is the shit
Great on local with friends and bantz
Midnight Club 3
>>388630826
Just read some shit on it, I might actually pick this up. It's sort of what I'm after in a racing game, sounds like a spiritual successor to Underground 2.
>>388630568
this owns
>>388630795
I really need to buy the DLC, shit looks great. The worst career events are Endurance, I swear the AI is fucking cheating. It's either a "spend the entire race in first and second place still has more points SOMEHOW" episode or a "AI takes turns nuking you with EMPs so you can never get out of third place" episode.
I think boss races are the best thing ever though, really fun shit.
GT4 is pretty cool
Flatout. It's probably aged like milk, but the destruction engine was mindblowing back in the day. Excellent soundtrack, as well
Star-Wars racer is the only right answer.
>>388631396
oh yeah boss races are the shit. As for endurance: you get 50 extra points for scoring the fastest lap so far,
50 again for "speed trap", which means either "achieve faster than 1,000 kph at some point in the lap" or "go faster than the last time you got a speed trap bonus",
another 50 for not resetting (I presume the AI abuses this by being coded never to mess up),
and supposedly 200 or never contacting the walls at all during the lap, though I've never got this.
My guess is that the AI is abusing these mechanics by going a little bit faster every lap to pump out an extra 150 points each lap.
As for the DLC: I don't have vertex, but mars and neptune are pretty great. be adivised though, that the Buran team that comes with the neptune dlc is, true to russian and chinese engineering, not very good. I only ever race it when I want a challenge (and because I think they look cool)
>>388631291
Biggest complaint has got to be the EA always online fuckery though. On PC you need to load and join a multiplayer session to access the menu option to play solo, which throws you into another loading screen. And fuck you if your connection cuts out in a solo game, because it'll exit to the main menu without saving your progress. That also means you'll need to go through a multiplayer session to resume your solo game.
Basically, you better have a stable internet connection and some patience.
>>388631396
>>388631925
Also neptune's flight physics are fun, the descriptions aren't kidding when they say zero-g because you can feel it during the very many times your craft leaves the track.
Also for some weird reason I find all the craft handling way better on the mars tracks, I don't know if it's because they're wider than they look or if it's the lower gravity somehow
>>388632004
So don't live in North America is what you're saying
>>388632004
Well that and the fact that the handling model is aimed at people who have never even seen a car let alone sat in one.
>>388632004
Does EA just actively want people to hate them? Even Ubisoft has toned down on the shitty practices
Grid was interesting compromise between arcade style of racing with "attempts" to be more realistic. Now on rare occasion it is still playable on GameRanger.
Grid 2 was such a letdown.
I never bothered with Grid Autosport. Should I try?
>>388628076
DEJA VU
Need for Speed Underground II
ass-etto corsa with maximum realism only driving the ae86
>>388630568
my nigga
also excellent gif
>>388632340
Unless you're specifically looking for a sim, realism isn't really a good measure of quality in video games.
>>388628076
Is that Gaijin Hunter?
But can your racer do this?
>>388632554
TOO BIG TO FAIL.
Although I really think it's their audience. Social gamers with strong brand loyalty, something that Battlefield, Battlefront, NHL, Madden, Fifa, Sims players. For "core" gamers their practices are terrible, but there's a big enough market for highly systematised social games that they can survive as a business on this bracket alone.
I'm gonna go reinstall Colin McRae rally 2
I have my glasses tinted so fucking hard I can't see through.
What am I in for?
