Have both you and your pawn be a Strider, it won't guarantee that it's the exact weapon you need (as you can still get a longbow or whatever), it'll be a yellow weapon for sure. What you get from BBI stuff is dependent on the class of you and your pawn.

Seriously, you can even make a male pawn and get summons if they actually look distinct, walking into the rift and seeing 10 pawns all wearing the same outfit makes it easy to decide who to take with you.

BBI isnt affected by NG+ or post dragon. It is its own little world. It only changes and becomes harder when you kill Daimon for the first time.

You should still run it once before going NG+ just to grab all the gear because some of the chests can only be looted once

The only fun combination is double sorcerer because it's the only thing with actual synergy (you could go mage I suppose, but mage is just a shit sorc). For everything else you can be anything and they can be anything and it won't really matter. The only other things that might work is going strider/assassin with a fighter to launch you but the shield launch is shit.

I played it a lot on ps3 but it sort of faded into obscurity when started playing ps4 more

I really do like this game.....is it because its a 'true' fantasy game that has been needed to fill that niche?

PC version has mods to:
- Improve the level curve of all classes or just hybrid classes
- Improve textures(icons, landscape, character, clothing)
- Improve graphics
- Improve enemy placements
- Triple enemy spawn numbers
- Randomize the size of monsters
- Edit your saves(can edit all of your pawns too, 3 custom pawns etc)
- Edit augments(faster casting, using all augments at once, increasing torch radiance etc)
- QOL/cheat mods for instance infinite running, higher jumping, no encumbrance, etc
- Reskins for armors to further customize what your characters look like
- Ability to use NPC only clothing or hairs
- FLYING INTO FREE.mp3 mod
- Use any piece of gear as any class, that means you can use a greatsword with a bow or a magic sword with a magic bow
- Free camera for screenshots
- Time modifier for either faster or slower gameplay
- Bunch of mods to enhance some of the spells
- Weapon model swap, remove Adept Hat flaps, and shorten capes mods
- Nude mods

Pretty great except DD's open ended nature does not lend itself well to Witcher's more defined narratives.

I just want a tighter narrative that's focused and expansive. DD:DA had a mess of a story but the few points where it had some were fucking great, like Julien and the She-goat, the Moon tower sequence, Duke losing it.
And it's pretty impressive how a game with such a shallow plot was able to conceive one of the greastest depictions of a Dragon in video games. Grigori was fucking lit.

The game also had a pretty interesting atmosphere that reminded me of Golden Age Arc Berserk (Dark Souls is more Black Swordsman arc Berserk).

The foundations in the settings and the artstyle are pretty solid, so it really doesn't take much to make the game's story more engrossing, just better and more varied questing, a decent plot and more excellent characters like Grigori and you have a real gem of a game there.

Of course Combat needs to be expanded too. I'd like to see them bring the new DDO classes in like Lancer and Alchemist especially, a ridiculously fun class. ALso gigantic boss fights like Grigori, I want that SoTC feel.

And make Pawns more involved in the game's questing, like gaining certain pawns or abilities for them through quests or having certain pawns be able to take part and change a quest's outcome with their contribution (like sending them to infiltrate a mansion to retrieve something while you keep the guards busy).

Gameworld needs to be expanded too, and quality of life measures introduced like TW3's signposts, which is a perfect blend of not being able to teleport immediately to your location to encourage exploring but also shorten a ridiculously long trek. BBI already introduced some of it with custom waypoints and infinite travel stones.

DD2 can easily be made reality with some effort, the foundation is there.

Defensive stats are valid stats. You can beat all the content in the game at under half the level cap. Trying to min max is not worth it by any stretch.

Decided to replay the game with just my main pawn, no hires. Also no magic, no ranged classes, no enchantments. Arisen as Fighter, punished loli as Strider.

The enemy AI becomes leagues better once it only has to focus on two opponents, instead of having to switch between four. This has the effect that they start using their "special" attacks a lot more often.

The game also becomes a bit harder, which is nice since usually on Normal difficulty you'd feel overpowered at around level 25.

I feel like the original game was designed with just the Arisen and main Pawn in mind, and that some executive/marketing guy came in halfway through development and decided that the game was going to need a multiplayer aspect.

You should try it out, the game becomes much more enjoyable without rented pawns.

The stats on leveling up are irrelevant and the only one you'll notice a difference on is hp when you level as a knight from 1-200.
