WiiU didn't launch with BotW. WiiU had no real incentive to be bought until Smash, maybe MK8. Which is when sales started to pick up for it. Switch launched right out of the gates with a worthwhile game, something the WiiU was criticized for lacking during the first two years.

Once it blows past WiiU numbers you can start to make an assessment for how successful it actually is. Overall, I still see it doing roughly as well as the Gamecube.

The WiiU only appealed to Nintendo fans, deny the fact that you're a fanboy all you want, but the fact that you went out and bought a console which was largely ignored by the rest of the industry means you havevan inherent preference and favoritism for Nintendo over other brands. The WiiU had nigh nothing when it came to 3rd party support, but stellar, first party NINTENDO games.

It was inferior in every way to not just its competitors, but even last gens 360 and PS3.

Even being an idort, anyone who bought a WiiU, bought it cause they like Nintendo, and the console's overall sales reflect that. Is there some outlier in Nintendo fans who didn't buy it, and nonfans who did. Ofc, we're talking of millions of people here, but overall, those two samples are an overall minority and cancel each other out.

The console has little appeal outside of being a machine to play Nintendo games (much like the WiiU). In every other category it's bested by its competition, be it mobiles and tablets, PS4 and Xbone, or PC. And that's not even factoring in the growth of tech, and possibilities brought forth by 5G networking and the "internet of things" which kicks off in less than 3 years.

If all of this makes you butthurt, then too bad. But I don't see why it should. You bought a Switch to play Nintendo games after all.
