Tried to get into it, night's too damn dark, everything still running while offline is complete and total horse shit, and logging in to your house destroyed and shit stolen is NOT fun in the slightest, and to top it off, the Torpor/Stun mechanics are fucking annoying and just another bullshit mechanic to ruin what little fun you could theoretically have

The way it works is if you have more than 2 hours playtime in a game you can't refund it. That goes for EA titles as well, however when a game leaves EA it essentially becomes a different game.
So you can have 1,000 hours of time played in ARK EA right now, you can't refund it. However, in a day or two when it actually comes out you can refund it regardless of your EA time. Just don't play more than 2 hours after it releases.

This was done en masse with Killing Floor 2 to return the favor to the dirty kikes at TWI.

it goes without saying that you need to have bought the game through steam, 3rd party keys cannot be refunded
