They make most of their money off of pre-owned games for one, and basically lose profit on anything new they sell. I'm honestly surprised they haven't gone under sooner.

This is honestly the biggest problem with Gamestop though, or rather, it's a problem with the industry in general, I suppose. AAA games might as well be shovelware at this point for how often they're pumped out and almost identical to the last iteration.

This can only be a good thing, not saying you should get this, god no, but choices means competition and competition means better Best Buy and amazon promos, which means deals more often, which means more aligning of cheap sales at Best Buy and high trades at gamestop which means with 60+% trade in stacks, and b2g1 vouchers, we could easily see the return of fliporama and insane 40-60 pure profit trades...

May I add 2 more points.

1. GS Trade Credit used on purchases makes those items TAX FREE

2. GS Trade credit can be converted to amazon funds!
