I made the thread mainly to share the picture I guess, it gave me a chuckle.
>we don't live in the timeline that has mechanical, modern-age cataphracts
Why even live?
E-sports contributed to death of RTS.
>inb4 e-sport apologist Gooks
>RTS game comes out
>Nobody buys it
>People who didn't buy it say RTS is dead
really makes you think

WE CAN'T REWIND WE'VE GONE TOO FAR

Name one example.
RTS was never big outside of Korea. Most Moba players have never played an RTS and never would have done. Mobas took the MMO market.

>Mobas took the MMO market.
This.
Assfaggots have nothing to do with RTS beyond the engine history, the playerbase rarely even has overlap
RTS died before MOBAs became a meme
RTS games died because they're flawed by design.
No one likes every aspect of the game.
People who like building their base all game are going to play Banished or whatever.
People who like huge battles are going to command thousands in total war games, instead of 100 in an RTS.
People who like autistic clicking are going to play starcraft.
Not only that but they take a lot of effort to make, an EE games today would take ages to make all the units and buildings at AAA standard.
