Ruin I is never to be used unless you're around 30% mp and having to conserve.
Ruin II is used when needing to get damage out while weaving OGCD's (Bahamut phase for example)
Ruin III should be spammed in DWT but also if you have >50% of your mp still
Ruin IV's are automatic but must be used ASAP as the proc doesn't stack

Just keep DoT's up. Keep Ifrit on Sic unless you have a way more casters than other dps, then Garuda (will only happen maybe 3% of the time). Always Enkindle while roused. Make sure to Tri-disaster either right at the start or right before both Bahamut and DWT.
Getting to Bahamut is top priority so don't be afraid of using your aetherflow stacks like (Fester, Energy Drain/Painflare, Fester). You CAN wait for triple fester but generally the more DWT's and Bahamuts you get out will always out dps a third fester.

I can't think of much else. It's not so bad once you get used to when to use your ruins and the general flow. Also learning to watch your mp like a hawk and knowing when it's safe to throw out another unbuffed Ruin III helps a lot. You always want enough mp to resummon your pet in case it dies.

fastest way to train dps class after lvl 60? some people say pvp while others say SB dungeons

How the fuck is it possible to still be that bad at this class after 10 levels of playing it? It took me about a minute of flinging spells at a dummy to figure out "jolt into verthunder/veraero, replace jolt with verfire/verstone if it procs". Even the SAM players who took one look at the low potency numbers on their AOE's and took them off their hotbars are worth more than these braindead fucks.

With a good enough amount of PIE, BRD/MCH in party and maybe even caster MP transfer skill, you have so much MP that it doesn't matter if you use Cure II as your main heal. This lets you DPS more. But this only works when you're with a group you're comfortable with to manage your MP like that. With PUGs, you will want to use Cure I.

What good healing is in a group not fucking up that often, is both healers having both high DPS uptime (especially on DoTs), and the bare minimum healing. This requires coordination of instants (and in SCH case, fairy CDs). With actual hardcasted heals, like cure or physick being the exception, not the rule. Things like regen should be kept up too.

You end up with healers having a combined DPS of like 5k+, while also being completely safe because things are coordinated well. That's good healing. But in that case, the healing percentile for both would be like... 20-30 each.

I always thought that AST is pvp healer king thanks to dualcast, instacast ability, instacast heal which is now on a 10 sec cd and cards.

FFXIV has mostly the same base systems as wow, but polished. Some examples are legacy movement and controls which are pure sex in comparison to WoW, skill queueing, which is awesome, as well as xiv's much more involved and interesting crafting and gathering. XIV also doesn't have as many dumb systems such as leggos and titanforging. On a related note, keeping up with gear progress is much easier than in WoW, so that might appeal.
The 2.5 GCD is a valid complaint at low levels, but by 50 and onwards is vastly superior to WoW's since ogcd weaving speeds up combat quite a bit. In my opinion, wow rotations seem spammy and hectic, while the 2.5 gcd gives you a bit of time to think about what you're going to do next.
XIV fight design is also a strong point, as most bosses, especially in more recent content, are fairly self explanatory, and often use similar indicators for similar mechanics. They often aren't as simple as wow's, but it's much easier to figure them out without needing to look at a guide or dungeon journal.
One aspect of WoW that is definitely superior is the amount of content generated, at least in legion so far, with 5 month gaps in raids as opposed to 7 month gaps, as well as large amounts of open world content that also come in 5 month cycles, though we will have to see how long the end-of-expansion content drought is this time around.
WoW also implements its side systems better, as in my opinion though it's much less refined in comparison to xiv, professions work better along side the battle content than in xiv and are less of a chore to get ready. WoW also seems to have better technology, but xiv is rapidly improving.
Xiv dps and healers are much more fun to play, but tanks are a bit less interesting.
XIV presentation blows WoW out of the water, honestly. The story is better, the visuals are better, and the music is vastly superior.

That's absolutely insane to think about how much that WHM was overcompensating for not having a second healer. I would get out of there as the WHM not because I'm better than them, but because fuck solo healing when I could have a co-healer.

I know exactly how good proper healing can be because my HW static was a group where both healers carried their own weight (for the most part) with the scholar doing a majority of the healing just by using his fairy CDs and shields intelligently, which allowed the AST a lot of uptime since he mostly only needed to upkeep regens and occasionally lightspeed some helios or weave in a disable. I wasn't claiming the healers were in the right, I was complaining that the healers were shitters who were too big for their britches and thought they were too good for our group due to us not clearing the first actually difficult fight of the tier in less than an hour (in spite of tanks constantly dying due to not getting shielded).

There's people who can clear content fairly early (week 1 - 3) and there's people who drag their feet and complain that Halicarnassus is too hard for their group. Would you rather be in the former or the latter? I'd pick the former, and I actually did clear Deltascape week 1 so there's that. That, for me, is a success because it corresponds to my skill level. If I was in a group that takes 3 months to clear O3S, I'd probably just kill myself.

And hey, it just so happens that people who CAN clear content in first couple of weeks are also basically already at their skill cap because the game hasn't had meaningful increases in difficulty in a while so the only way we can get our peepee hard is by minmaxing autism. And hey, for a lot of people, seeing how far you can take it is fun, even in a shallow game such as this. Who are you to dictate how people want to play the game?

I played WoW for over a decade since TBC came out and I gotta say the game declined dramatically after Wrath of the Lich King came near it's end. It became apparent that Blizzard cared more about keeping the game on a hamster wheel than making interesting content or actually expanding the game without dumbing it down signifacntly.

As for FFXIV, it's not perfect by any means and it does nothing innovative. But it does a lot of old formulas right and with polish. There's something for everyone whether you're a new player or a person at the level cap. The whole design philosophy FFXIV has where you treat it as a JRPG with co-op and when you see the final credits you quit or engage in NG+ (Savage or leveling alt jobs) is not ideal to hardcore MMO players that live and breath the game, but I find it a good balance for everyone in general as it allows people to play at their own pace and if you get burned out and quit then it's not impossible or difficult to catch up. That's what I believe is FFXIVs major advantage over WoW.

WoW is gay as hell for many reasons but the number 1 reason is the fact that the WoW equivalent of party finder is nothing but "SELLING CARRY" Ads. Some are blatantly exchanging PayPal money for carries which falls under RMT but Blizzard just doesn't seem to care anymore about their own rules as long as tokens print them money.

Tank player here: it really is the most simple role save for the few fights where you actually have to worry with more than your 1-2-3 rotation and CD management on the obviously choreographed heavy hitting moves.

There is no tight mitigation management due to lack of pressure from bosses, there is almost no stat/meld customization and there is barely any fight with real positioning requirements where you have to constantly dance with the boss or risk a wipe, with most fights basically being "take boss to X and tank it there".

As much as I like tanking, it really doesn't have much depth.
