What the FUCK did he want?
>>
why does he wear the mask?
>>
>>388577584
I just got NV on Steam a few days back. Holy shit it's cheap. I had it on PS3, but I only played Old World Blues (decent, but enemies are too fucking strong) and Honest Hearts (shit DLC). Never tried Dead Money or Lonesome Road. Are they actually any good? Ulysses seems like such a fucking cocksucker that I kinda want to kill him, but I heard LR is generally shit.
>>
>>388577761
Dead Money is a fun, if slightly annoying, clone of Bioshock. Make sure when you pair up with Dog, keep him out until you spot him eat an ghost enemy. That gives you the perk that makes then STAY dead, making dead money a bit easier.

Lonesome Road was alright, but I thought the pay off wasn't worth it.
>>
>>388577584
Revenge. As much as he says he doesn't hate the courier and all that it's bullshit. He's angry, rightfully angry, the way any human would be when they saw literal hope die. I might sound like a pretentious douche for saying it but him being kinda irrational and unable to properly express his emotions is actually a really realistic portrayal of what a human being is like. Of course it could have just been a poorly written character I'm reading too much into but who knows?
>>
he really just wanted to launch them missiles. He apparently gave no fuck about what happened at the Divide since you confront him on "having a beef" with just the Courier
>>
>>388577584
>>388577761
>>388578435
>Lonesome Road was too deep for them!

Ulysses is a refraction (not reflection) of the player character- someone who sees the sovereignty and agency of the player character to seemingly change the world at will and decides to seize that power to make a mark upon the world. He's the answer to the question of "why is nobody else in this video game as much of an aberrant badass as me?" Ulysses is basically another you with his own motivations, although he seeks for an ideology with which to craft a self-sufficient state.

TL;DR: he's you, but he rejects the major factions and seeks a different path
>>
>>388577761
Dead money is without a doubt the strangest dlc. At first, I (and many people) fucking hated it. It had weird difficulty, weird story and weird characters.

But now, I have to say it's my favourite. The constant gassing, elias, the weapons and armour and millions of caps you can walk away with is pretty great.

Lonesome road has good gear, but all around its pretty boring because there's only 2 characters in it (3 if you include the courier).
>>
>>388578965
im not a nigger
>>
>>388579173
fun fact: Lonesome Road is the second-best DLC (following Honest Hearts) and ahead of Old World Blues. Dead Money is the absolute worst.

BEAR AND BULL
>>
>>388577584

He wanted to teach the Courier that one man can indeed make a difference.

Ulysses believed in the Divide and saw it as an organic rise of old America, until the Courier destroyed it. Whether intentional or not, the Courier destroyed everything Ulysses believed in. He hated the Courier, but at the same time admired him.

So Ulysses learned that one man can change history. The Courier showed him that by destroying the Divide and changing the course of history. Ulysses wanted to face the Courier so one of them can be the one that changes history. Either by destroying the NCR, Legion, both or non.

The courier brought the package, allegedly. But even then, that package was found by someone else. Examined by someone else. Sent to the divide by someone else. One man? Fuck off, Ulysses. It was many men.

I kinda wanna play through New Vegas again. I suddenly had a Fallout itch I needed to scratch so I decided to try and play though the first two games but I just couldn't get into them and quit after like an hour in each.
Last time I played through NV it was on 360 and I've beaten the game in every route. Any essential mods that will make the experience better without breaking immersion too much (like adding inflatable hammers and unbelievable shit like that)?

DM has the best writing and world building but has a an annoying difficulty. Not even hard, just flat out annoying.

I hate LR because it's purely gameplay/gunplay focused which I find to not be particularly great. Ironically, I really like Ullesys himself as a character.
>Ulysses seems like such a fucking cocksucker that I kinda want to kill him
That's the point. Ullyses and the Courier relationship is best described as a crazy ex-girlfriend the Courier just wants to get rid of.
>>
>>388577584
He existed to be Avellone's avatar so he could complain about how developed the Fallout world had become.
>>
What are some good implants/augments mods ? i want to leave humanity behind.
>>
>>388584070
Project Nevada, though I always felt the actual implements were way to cheap and should've costed as much as something like the OWB implants.
>>
>all these people that fell for Ulysses lies
You didn't deliver any detonator to the Divide.
The nukes exploded for a different reason, and Ulysses decided to blame you in his grief-caused madness

I took seven bars out with me.
They're currently locked up at the Lucky 38, never to ever be sold because there's no god damn place in the game that will take them for anywhere close to their value. The only place that regularly has enough money to buy even one bar is Gun Runners, and they buy it for about 2000 caps less than other places that can't afford it.
>>
>>388587313
I used them for trading fodder for some of their more expensive items.

>>388587313

>>388587746
It's gold you dolt. A trade caravan could just take it to the NCR and extort them cause they're incredibly desperate for any that isn't irradiated. Or give it to the Legion so they can print it into their money in exchange for goods. Also any factions that are techy require it for creating or repairing the more advanced circuitry in stuff.
>>
>>388587579
The problem is, what would I buy? I have nearly 100000 caps entirely because my dude does melee and guns, I have one or two guns I really like to use, everything else just gets sold off. I have nothing left to buy!

Energy Weapons have -DT on their ammo with no loss of Dmg.
Only the 5mm does this for guns.
Lots of Energy weapons also have +Crit

Perks like Plasma Spaz and Vigilant Recycler are also great.
Recharger Rifle has Infinite Ammo
etc

There's a lot of benefits to energy weapons.

I still prefer guns but nothing in the game posed a much greater challenge when I did RP playthroughs with Energy weapons

All armor piercing ammo has a damage reduction of 5%.

This is less than 1 point of damage in many cases. Some guy once did the maths on this and found that it's always more effective to use AP ammo if the target has any DT at all. BTW, the handloader perk lets you make some ammo that is armor piercing with no cost.

>Dead Money is supposed to be the nitty gritty survival DLC where you struggle to get by with what you can scrounge up
>It literally showers you in food and chips to buy stimpacks, Dean's stashes trivialiae the weapon hunt aspect, and ghosts are boring, non-threatening foes who actually carry weapons like the beartrap gauntlet which trivialise the danger they present
>traps amount to just tripwires and mines/beatraps which are put in the most obvious places possible, literally their only clever usage is the basement of the switching station where following the light through the middle instead of running around the side takes you to a beatrap nest
>fog takes ten years to kill you and you have so much healing shit you can always just tank through it
>each companion nullifies the main threat of the place you have to deliver them to, be it radios or traps or fog, via their perk
>holograms take ten years to attack and are so sparsely used before the executive suite they may as well not exist for most of the dlc

Dead Money is a failure on every level besides the fantastic voice acting and backstory being interesting. Well that and Elijah/Christine being okay characters when they're not beating you over the head with exposition or the fucking LET GO shit

You don't steal the gold because you need it; you can obtain infinite wealth at level 1 by crafting molotov cocktails. You steal the gold because suckering Elijah, Sinclair and the writers is the only enticing challenge in DM.

How do you make infinite money with molotov's? And I agree emptying the vault and trapping Elijah inside is the most satisfying feeling ever. I imagine my Courier doing a big fuck you jig waving a gold bar to spite that old man so he can rot with absolutely nothing in that empty tomb.
