Easy mode - can actually have fun and goof around with the game and stray off from the goal or mission and do other stuff and still advance to next level. A comfy time.

Normal mode - stick to the main thing and do what the game wants, can't explore or experiment or do silly shit. Fine, just not as good a time tho.

Hard mode - just normal mode but now enemies are hit sponges and you are nurfed in defense and power. I only play this mode if you get something extra for doing it.
