Something eerie.

Imagine if the equivalent of majoras mask was released for kirby. Each area is a representation of a larger theme, something mature, and makes you think. Something to make you question your attitude towards something. And I'm not talking about "hmm maybe we shouldn't pound these waddle dees" but more in like with regret, or wrath, loss and forgiveness.

Make it a kirby rpg. A large 2d platformer world that you can travel around in and explore, not a linear level. And each copied form let's you upgrade each part. Like sword kirby gets a better sword, better hammer, stronger fire.

Yeah, I'm using a controller add-on called Rewired that costs $45 and it makes handling multiple controllers a godddamn dream. The trial version lets you use it 100% but it stops after 2 minutes of playtime and it splashes that text on screen whenever it's being used. Pretty fun but definitely a bit on the short and limited side, though I suppose its not too surprising, non of these e-shop games have been very expansive in retrospect, TKCD had only a few environments and bosses done like 4 times each. Good difficulty though, reminds me of how hard Drum Dash was. Tough I have to wonder if HAL feels Kirby is only allowed to be hard when its score/time attack, but I can see all this side challenge bleed into the main games.

RPG elements.
Not like in Team Kirby Clash, but tailored for a long campaign with 1 or more players as in a regular Kirby game.
You get experience as you kill enemies and you can use it to upgrade your basic abilities like run speed, flight speed, health, inhalation range, damage on dash attack/exhale attack, etc to some degree. You can also use it to improve the damage and expand the moveset of abilities on an individual basis. Abilities start out functioning like the classic games (Adventure, Dream Land 2, etc) where they just have one simple attack/function, but you can unlock Super Star style movesets bit by bit in a skill tree system.
This would give you a nice sense of progression as you move through the game, and also give you freedom in terms of how you want to play. Do you spend all your points on your favorite abilities? Or do you spread them around so you always have a strong option? Or do you stack all your points on one ability that you make super strong, but risk being screwed if you lose your ability and need to use a different one?
