You're not one of those players that uses these, are you /v/?

Depends on the game. I completed Mega Man 1-6 on emu a few years ago with zero save states; those games are known for their difficulty and to use an artificial advantage would rob them of some value. I did use save states for games such as Punch-Out so I can return to the previous fight and improve my times/practice.
I also really don't care what another anon is doing to play through a game that is 10-30 years old.

I own every console I've ever used an emu for.

I'm sure you own every game you've ever emulated, right?

Only if the game had a password system that acted as a save

Yep, and there's nothing you can do to stop me

Lots of them, but not every one. The thing is, I've supported the industry with thousands and thousands of my dollars. I feel no shame or remorse from emulating an old PS2 game that I would have to buy used anyway.

Rom won't save for whatever reason, only real way i can save.
The only time I didn't feel bad using save states is when I played SMT1. The fucking encounter rate and getting lost all the time drove me insane.

There's a difference in using save states for convenience and save states to save scum.
>>388550021
I use it for RNG shit that would take me too much time.
>>388551063
None of the developers who made those games will get your money when you pay for that shit.

I also use the speed button for grinding.
Only if there's a large unskipable cutscene right before a boss or something that's just a huge inconvinience
Yes. All the time.
How else do I max out my money using the minigame on Suikoden?
And I don't give a fuck. Suck it, OP.
