I dunno. I certainly want more story in my monhun and riding a monster sounds badass but the gameplay did seem a bit too simplistic. About to start the anime so maybe that'll convince me.

It was a definite yes for me, but then I played the demo. Opposite to everyone else, it made me doubt the game. I never care about FPS or graphics, but it performed like shit, and the battle system didn't catch my interest. I'll add it to the "download once I've hacked my 3DS after the new handheld comes out / 3DS support ends" list.

Stutters any time a monster is on screen. It also has bad draw distance and makes NPC turn to gray blobs at a distance.

Different guy here, I played the demo on a New 3ds. Don't know if the full game is different, but for me the game seemed to be running mostly 40 - 60 fps, but has weird dips in some specific places down to like 20fps or so. Battles seemed to be consistently smooth all the time at least.

I have a new 3ds and I don't recall any issues. I didn't finish the game but I got pretty far and the reason I didn't finish is because it's as shallow as it can be and I got really tired of it.

Granted it's possible that the full game runs better than the demo (MH3U and 4U demos were noticeably worse than their releases so it's not without precedent) but in the demo the town framerate is garbage in many spots and there's some jumpy drops out in the field while riding around on a monster. It could be much worse but it's still there.

I'm getting the game after greatly enjoying the demo. Regular MonHun isn't for me, but an rpg? All rpgs are for me.
