I briefly tried Rogue Spear and the AI is way too random. I load up one of the training scenarios, sometimes Red team gets wiped in the first room, sometimes they don't. Sometimes enemies just rush into a corridor blindly allowing me to mow them down effortlessly, sometimes they manage to run up behind me but take forever to shoot, but other times they shoot me before I can even see them. The game expects you to set up plans but the fixed plans in the training scenarios shows the weakness of this premise. The game's AI is too unreliable for NPCs to carry out a plan like you expect them to. Games like SWAT 3 and Ghost Recon had way more consistent AI.

I remember my friends and I would leave the game running all night and tie rubber bands to our controller sticks to keep our characters in constant motion, all whilst gaining rank from going through matches (to unlock weapons and skins).

it's called replayability. if you could memorize enemy movement patterns it'd be boring after first succesful run the original r6 games were made properly a single player experiences. vegas was the first chest height wall xbox multiplayer. raven shield was closest to games like flashpoint which still have randomized AI

SWAT 3 is just as good if not better when it comes to randomizing the way its AI are placed and move about the map. With Rogue Spear, it's their effectiveness (e.g. reaction times) that is random and varies wildly which diminishes tactics.

yeah but swat 3 is a great game. I think raven is the best of all them but they all play very similiar. raven definitely had the best multiplayer. probably of all time when it comes to realistic shooters.
