Let's just get rid of a bunch in one go.

I already typed all this shit down. Tried to avoid cliches like Koopas or Goombas as much as I could. If a drawfag wants to draw them, go ahead.
>First partner's a gangster Shy Guy that's only working with you out of fear of getting caught by the cops, instead of tattling he rats out other enemies
>Second partner is a former Dayzee musician who puts enemies to sleep and can get you past Thwomps and blocked pathways
>Third partner is a Chuckya who isn't really comfortable doing what he's doing, because he's enslaving the inhabitants of an island. He can throw Mario to higher grounds.
>Fourth partner is a Dry Bones named Deaf who thinks he's the Grim Reaper, but he isn't, yet nobody can tell him because he's deaf. He can fit his head under narrow passageways to press switches for Mario
>Fifth partner is a Snow Pokey that can launch it's segmented body parts to hit switches, and only wants to adventure outside of the ice caps for once
>Sixth partner is a Bully who's naturally immune to the radiation affects, he rushes at doors to break them open like a Bob-Omb would do to explode them
>Seventh partner is a Bzzap! that can fly Mario across long gaps, while also having a fear of heights, flies, and oxygen in general
>Eighth partner is the Koopatrol who was the tutorial boss, sad that Bowser won't notice him at all, he joins you. He hides Mario by throwing a cardboard box over him.
>Final partner is an amnesiac female Toad who appears multiple times in the game, sometimes tossing you items or disguising as enemies. She can hide Mario to help him get through the castle, but it has a recharge time and it's temporary. It turns out she's actually a Duplighost in the credits.
>Optional partners include a Torpedo Ted that's a war-veteran with PTSD that can go through water, a Magikoopa gamedev that can turn blocks into items, and a secret one that's actually just Luigi poorly disguised as a Goomba so he can adventure with Mario on these crazy Paper journeys for once

>Shellish Protection, where Deaf protects Mario with a bony shell

He just appeared one day in Mario's house. They were both when they finally noticed each other at the breakfast table. They both have the same memories, the same personalities. For all intents and purposes, they were the same person. Both believed they were the original, but neither can be completely sure they're not the clone. Nobody in Mario's life knows which one was the original Mario, and this puts great strain on himself, his friends, his family, and loves ones who tried to console them both and treat them both as the original. Both Marios tried to continue doing the same routines, maintaining Mario's relationships, going on Mario's usual outings, and eating Mario's favorite meals. You know Mario. He tries to make the best of things, to stay positive, to hold everything together. To control the situation. But Mario learned that he cannot stand himself. Their amused wistfulness morphed into bitter annoyance over time. Always at each others throats, always trying to convince not the other, but themselves, that they were the ORIGINAL Mario. Everyone tries to be considerate but nobody can accept two of the same person trying to live the same life, and treat you the same way as if they're both the same man. The person in question especially.
Luigi becomes shy, even when it's just he and Mario(s), and Peach grows distant. Neither of them know what to do. None of Mario's fans mind having two idols to worship, but his close friends are disturbed and it's beginning to hurt their relationship. Eventually, one Mario snaps and pushes his double out of his life. The double accepts that he's not the original, he believes he should find a role somewhere else where he can find his own identity. He tearfully departs his brother, his girlfriend, and his home. Sad, of course, but optimistic.

He originally met with Princess Daisy in Sarasaland. It'd been the first time he'd had the opportunity to see her since he saved the land from Tatanga's brainwashing scheme. They were happy together for awhile, but a guilty uneasiness prevented Mario from getting comfortable. He knows he's not REALLY Mario, he grows restless, and departs. He hangs up his hat for good and begins to wander the Mushroom World aimlessly. He spends his days traveling, finding new places to enjoy, new villains to thwart, new princesses to rescue, and new friends to make, but he never settles down to stay in one place. He renames himself Fuori Luogo. He grows a full beard, he lets go of his inhibitions to find out what he really wants out of his new life. He continues to live the life of a wandering hero, and although he'll miss Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and even Bowser at times, he understands he doesn't have a place there anymore. He keeps moving and lives a life of wonder and adventure. A life of freedom, not to be tied down. Not able to settle. It's exactly the kind of life Mario has always wanted, but he's become lonelier than ever.
The Mario who believes he is the clone, Fuori, could be the original. Mario living comfortably in his little rut, in his little home with his brother, in his beloved Mushroom Kingdom could just be a copy of the original. Does it make a difference?

Then one day they cross paths again in Paper Mario and he becomes a party member for fun, Mama Mia, Fettuccine Alfredo!

Ikaika, a chuckster. Specifically, the smaller one from Super Mario Sunshine that assisted Mario in collecting a certain shine sprite. Now freed from what weird dimension, he's joined up with the paper crew in order to improve his chucking skills. His field ability lets him toss Mario onto ledges too far for him to jump to.

"Bro", a Hammer Bro koopa and prop handler for the local theater. His stagehand experience allows him to handle a variety of tools, and puts this to work in Mario's group in an attempt to earn money and spread his theater's name across the world. His field skill has him fixing up broken objects like springs, bridges, and ladders to be used by Mario.

you can also swing him vertically at certain places so he can latch onto things and help mario swing over dangerous areas

I want a Paper Mario MMO where you get to choose your character from all sorts of races like Toad, Boo, Goomba, Koopa, Shyguy, Pokey, etc.
And have the old battle system and EXP and badge collecting, and you could party up to go on quests with your friends and shit, that would be sick.
