To be fair, that's because they're all japanese. They wouldn't recognise his first name in english letters, nevermind the fact that they'd be calling him by his last name, whatever that is I don't remember. It's still an easy trial 1 clue even in japan, but much less horribly obvious. Basically it's the translation team's fault for not editing the clue due to prioritising accurate translation over equal challange.

Don't worry, it gets a lot better as time goes on. DR1 gets better, certainly - but DR2 and DRV3 have insane trials that fuck with your head massively. You will regret being angry at this trial when you get to fucking DR2 Chapter 5, you could have fully figured it out from the start but holy shit you'd have to be fucking sherlock to get it totally right.
