I like the Tide for practical use, and Streloks gun is pretty much objectively the best assault rifle in the game, but I really love the Hunting Shotgun for it's accuracy. It's a cool as fuck, cheap, easy to use weapon that does good burst damage.

Bular armor. High armor, lets you wear a tactical helmet, and doesn't weigh a crazy amount. It's all good.

why not the Hunting shotgun? It's the same thing but with fantastic instead of shit accuracy and the ability to use both ammo types instead of one and slightly higher damage.

I don't hate Clear Sky, but the faction war content was just so buggy and disappointing. For example, taking the train depot at the center of Garbage for the Loners was broken as fuck, and even when I did finally manage it, they lost it almost immediately. If they'd had it working properly, and I could pump resources into making my chosen faction stronger, it would have been great.
