I regretted buying a 3DS just for Zelda OOT remake, so I sold it after finishing it.

I regretted buying yet again another 3DS for Zelda Majoras Mask remake, so I sold it before finishing it.

They really fucked up MM. The new system for the bombers notebook needlessly simplified almost every side quest. Basically held your hand through the entire game. Graphics were nice though.

I've regretted watching remakes.

The "Kiwami" system is kinda bad, you gotta do a heat attack of a specific style on bosses when they start glowing, while you don't do it they regen health like crazy, and also the Majima Everywhere system is a huge grind where you have to fight the guy 48 times and is the only way to power up the Dragon of Dojima style. Not to mention the game doesn't bring almost anything new to the table and is pretty much an expansion pack to Y0

Yakuza Kiwami is a great game and the best entry point for newcomers. Tracking down a relatively expensive copy of 1 for PS2 or emulating the game is wasted effort when you can play the superior version on PS4. It also supports the developers and prove that the West wants this franchise.
The only positive to playing the original Yakuza is seeing how the series has evolved over time because it starts out pretty poor.

All this buzz convinced me to finally give this series a try and I'm emulating Yakuza 1 right now since it's free. The dub isn't that bad (I always play with original audio if available, but considering the shit I've heard about the dub here and the fact that this is a niche PS2 game I was expecting much worse) and the combat is still enjoyable enough despite being pretty clunky. The story's pretty fucking cool so far and it's pretty fun to just go around the town doing side missions and gambling and shit, although I've heard the newer games are way crazier on the minigames.

Overall it's been surprisingly fun considering how much shit people seem to give it.

I own Kiwami and the only big problem with the game is when bosses regenerate health. The game is fine otherwise. It adds new scenes to flesh out Nishki, has better gameplay, looks better and is in my opinion, the definitive version of Yakuza 1.
