2, 3, and 4 absolutely do a good job of retelling the story to the point that even Kishi says they're a good medium for people trying to get into the series. Of course you miss out on some of the smaller details but they cover the main story pretty well and the presentation for the major fights dwarf the production values of the anime in most cases.

It works better than you think. The actual show is full of clutter, and nothing good happens in the downtime between fights. Hell, very few fights in the series even get truly good animation. The storm games are the only way to touch this shit.

The game was pretty good. That nigger from the sound village that could use a superarmor was busted though.

Also, they removed Random Select from the character screen. Kinda a shame, but oh well.

I usually play brawler/grapplers in fighting games, but it was fun playing a dickish character that makes life for the opponent a living hell once in a while.

Fuck yes it is. I kept my GameCube on for DAYS on this one, trying to get to 999 in survival. Only got as high as in the two-hundreds.
