The Rabbids appear in the Mushroom Kingdom due to one of the Rabbids using a merging device on their time washing machine.
Mario and co have to chase down Bowser Jr. who tricked the Rabbid with the device, all while a rift known as the Megabug is looming in the sky.
Bowser comes back from vacation early and the Megabug takes on a physical form. Cue final boss

This game honestly looks a lot of fun. I'm gonna have to pick it up. I hope there will be DLC along the way. Maybe have Wario and a Wario Rabbid playable?

They can be oddly cute on rare occasions. It's not their usual schtick since they tend to act crazy 90% of the time which can throw people off, but it's possible. Spawny is made tinier and with big goggles (big enough to not see his popping eyes properly, the inside of his ears change too), so there's that. Tinier infant versions of Rabbids do exist in the cartoon as well, so it's not a first.

It seems they made the worlds more condensed rather than splitting them apart into different themed worlds. Many people who are new to the whole Xcom thing will take a little bit more than that on the first world and if things get a bit rougher as they go, it might take much longer than 8 hours (I think I heard someone suggest this was supposed to have all around 20 hours of play time, give or take, assuming it counts all worlds, the unlockables, challenges and what not, not counting the upcoming season pass).

Holy shit this is amazing, it really honors such final bosses as Cackletta and Smithy. HOW could ANYBODY watch this and still refuse this game just because it has Rabbids in it? Its like the dream Mario RPG people have always wanted to get made. We know that Nintendo gave up on Paper Mario, but if this was to replace it, I would have no problems with that at all.
