I played both. 2 is a fucking bore through and through. Horrible bosses, ugly as shit, most boring version of Dante by far, stupid wall running and edgy coat design, still had the shit camera of the first game. Donte is at least occasionally entertaining, some locations are occasionally interesting in DmC, there's at least a modicum of plot to follow with a fuller cast, Kat is better than Lucia, doesn't have retarded bosses like a helicopter or the ape or rehashed griffon from the previous game or the end boss mish mash of all other bosses.
