Since I was at gamescom I missed any discussion about this.
So how is the general opinion?
>>388409435
I'll get this because I enjoy the period it's set in but the last one I played was Anno 2077 and the campaign was honestly too formulaic. I quit after spending two hours on a mission and some scripted event took out my whole ctiy with some toxic shit or a tsunami or whatever making the mission unfinishable.

German streamers have been babbling about details a tonne (they have had NDA'd pre-alphas for a while), but not one in fucking English. I can understand some kraut but they speak really fast.
Anyone found a summary or anything of the sort in English?
>>388409435
Oh boy you've been to gamescom? How does it feel to attend the biggest meme event in gaming?
>>388409934
But Gamescom is the best videogame event unless you are a casual, in which case E3 is for you.
>>388410084
Yeah I never realized it before this year but there were several games I'm really hyped for at gamescom, unlike E3 which was literally nothing but AAA console garbage

>1800
>Ironclad and steam boats
>>388412143
are you some kind of stupid?
>>388412143
The titles must add up to 9, so even though they are calling it 1800 it's actually late 19th century
>>388409435
>The game isnt set in 1800. Its set in 1800-1900.
>As you advance through the game you advance the time line. Stuff like industrialisation and worker movements and strikes will happen.
>The Ai is now again on the same map as you.
>There will be different Ai characters.
>The combat will be on the same map, no combat maps anymore.
>There will be the classic anno trade routes.
>There will be an other non european civ.
Seems like they understand that 2205 was a mistake.

Why not just call it Anno 1886 -86?
child labor, land enclosure, and coal lung is not comfy
>>388412594
because 1+8+8+6+(-8)+6 is not equal to 9
>>388412678
Oh of course.
Anno (1886 - 86).
>>388409435
This is the first I hear of it and I ate up most of what the cancerous mainstream coverage got on the event, so I am going to assume it had a very minimal announcement.

The developers claim the nine in the title brings them luck, or the one zero in it. not sure. Just German things.
