Gameplay basically developed into something like Gunz K-style, retarded in appearance, execution and power level gap between people who knew the tricks and who didn't. It turned away the people who wanted a more realistic medieval combat game instead of people flipping and spinning around, and the kind of people who preferred the latter mostly stick to full blown fighting games anyway.

nah thats what gave the game complexity. it reminds of competitive fighting games which i played. lots of fun shit you can abuse with all classes, which opens up the avenue for mixups and trying to read opponents. also made really bad weapons good, like being able to do reverse OH with mauls etc. akin to a mixup game in fighting games.

If the devs actually cared they would've balanced the game around the different mechanics that were uncovered. not simply remove them. but alas, they did neither and basically left the game.
