The Witcher 3 is objectively a role-playing game, which is a very vague term that includes a lot of very different games. You may prefer RPG styles that create your character from scratch, but that does not mean RPGs that feature a set character cannot allow a high degree of player agency.

I dont know how I fell for the witcher meme twice in a row.

I got Witcher 2, was having a great time fighting monsters, then fighting the cool octopus monster thing and just overall doing fun monster slaying stuff, then ended up in a military camp doing random shit and just being bored to tears and quitting.

Then I got 3, did some kinda cool monster hunting against the Griffin, then ended up stuck talking to boring lords and boring ladies and quit.

Why cant it just be all monster hunts and what have you all the time instead of having to do all the boring human interactions all the time.

Even the good part of DaS was mediocre compared to DeS. The only people who like DaS are those that jerk off over 'hardcore' bossfights. There is a reason it's published by Bamco. Even From doesn't give a fuck about it.

Read the OP. We are talking about the 'best' RPG of the decade. Besides, I think Witcher 3 is its own genre. We ought to make a new AAA genre to categorize these things. A genre for games that go down a giant corporate checklist that incorporates a little bit of everything to make a mass-marketable piece of trash.
