Straight line level design with non stop obnoxious set pieces (headcrab behind every door and in every vent), terrible weak weapons, bullet sponge enemies, glitchy and slippery movement, braindead puzzles. That's not even mentioning the negative impact it and its sequel had on the genre. Play older FPS games, even shit like Redneck Rampage is more fun than HL despite its flaws.

You can have pacing and quiet time without making a game boring. Long stretches of cinematic nothing are a meme pushed by devs inspired by hollywood. It also barely exists in the HL sense in many games and genres, yet nobody complains because they don't need the devs acting like their mommey. Started playing Black Mesa, is that a worthwhile experience? There are some pretty interesting environmental interactions but I haven't seen anything amazing yet. I'm shortly after saving the guy who allows you to get the revolver and I did the hanging crate jumping puzzle

You don't fight vortigaunts, crab synthsm, mortar synths or drop ships. You fight very few striders (thankfully) since they are boring as all hell to fight. Same with gunships.

Fuck off, they're humans. They fight and behave like humans. The fact that you intentionally left out the entire overwatch and included unfinished beta enemies that make cameos at the very end only proves your entire argument is based on loopholes.

The transition to digital art is difficult and a lot of the time doesn't look as good as traditional if the artist doesn't know what they're doing or doesn't understand the differences between digital and traditional. This tends to be especially apparent with colouring and texture. The shading is a little overdone and blotchy on the second image, while the watercolour on the other one is nice and simple. The blue lighting is awkward and splotchy.

The face looks worse but clearly took more skill to draw; the artist is trying a lot harder to make a more realistic but isn't quite there yet. It's easy to cover up bad anatomy knowledge by just drawing generic anime face symbols. It also doesn't look at all like alyx, due to both the hair being the wrong shape and the face being too specific. She got away with the anime face because it doesn't look like anyone in particular; it's just the anime symbol for face. The second face looks like it could be a particular person, and that person isn't alyx.

They're clearly more skilled now but their work looks uglier because they're more ambitious, but don't yet have the skill to back that ambition up.
