I've seen super-low hl2 footage come by a number of times now and it always shows the world textures tiled like that, rather than low res but stretched appropriately

They patched it so that you can't do it anymore a long time ago, but a lot of us would edit the ini settings of Dirtybomb to make it look not too dissimilar to the op image. It looked like shit, but you could get a pretty noticeable improvement to your fps. I wish I had some screenshots of it.

Here's a bit less extreme yet still console-commanded extra low settings being used, no fucked up textures.

There's some mods that get rid of the obnoxious npcs and even the whole stage so is just the floor with maybe the lighting effects or somd objects.
And also there's one for the effects but it barely does anything for performance.

dont have it but >mfw you can run bf3 at 240x128 or something and its like 2000 fps

also, i used to play the game at 1 fov. dats right. 1 ( one ). the trick was you could then use a sniper rifle with a bipod and ironsights, and when you wanted to walk around and be able to see, you aimed down the irons, because the game sets zoom via fov. aiming puts you back to the default 70-80 or whatever it is, but then NOT aiming zooms you in farther then the highest powered scope in the game.
then thanks to the bipod, all shots are perfectly accurate, so i was sniping people from basically an unaimed bipod at ranges of 1.2 km
