I love 2D Action/Platformers. But Shantae is one of the more bland examples of that. It is not a Metrovania, but it also isn't really a game like Zelda 2. Half Genie Hero is such a shit game. We wait years for a shantae game with cartoon animation like the dialogue screens and we finally get it but instead of a metroidvania it's a half assed mega man clone

I've never known how to feel about this series. It honestly just reminds me of Deviantart galleries from the mid-2000's where these specific artists had a lot of sexy female characters in all kinds of cheesecake situations and usually alluded to video game humor conventions with them or something, but as an actual video game series. That in itself is respectable, I suppose.

But are they well and truly any good, or do you just like them for the hot girls?
