It's not feasible to keep upgrading and have 240fps solid in brand new games and some games will never hit that despite having the best hardware - hell, most modern games have 200fps caps or lower. I'm content with 144 for the time being.

Every multiplayer game I care about runs at more than 240fps at 1080p on my machine. Overwatch, CSGO, R6 Siege (all modern Ubisoft games actually), etc.

I run even Crysis 3 at 240FPS on this setup, just need to drop the res to 1280x720. Can even do it on high settings.

At low resolutions CPU is much much more important than GPU.

I'm happy with a solid 30 FPS in most games. 60 FPS is plenty for me.

I'm not going to cock around and say "The human eye can't see more than 144Hz!" or some shit, but do you really want to pay twice as much for a 240Hz monitor and the accompanying grafix capabilities for that extra smoothness?
60 is great and 144 is fantastic, but 240 is the point where you really need to ask yourself why you need the extra 100 frames and why 144 wasn't enough.

Reminder that while your eyes can only see 20 frames per second, your sense of touch operates at over 1000 frames per second, so if you're really pro, you should be playing via feel only.

I think I can see what OP's image refers to. Try moving your mouse back in forth somewhere on your screen, you'll see the image of it is only distinct a few times while you move it.

it depends on the person though, I personally don't see any difference when I'm using it on Rainbow Six, and the fact that I get 50fps more is enough for me to completely overlook any imperfections whatsoever if I ever notice them.
