In the context of a very basic trolley problem, I get the hesitation, but in the supernatural context the choice seems obvious. The universe is tearing itself apart over your interference. There isn't even anything in the "save Chloe" ending that suggests things will suddenly just get better after you leave the town. For all you know things will escalate to the sun exploding after a few more days of you fucking over fate.
