if the big boss is causing them to respawn, killing him would end the fight entirely right? then go for the big boss unless the little guys are in the way

Kill the minions just to get them out of the way first so you take less overall damage for a while before they respawn. If the minions give any kinds of buffs to the boss or can cc you kill them definitely

"May" respawn, what the fuck is that about? Is it chance based? Or do you just not know and assume they might respawn?

AoE attacks while focusing primary fire on the boss. If you can kill the minions, that's a good bonus, but being down a few turns usually isn't enough to justify focusing them. Only if leaving them unchecked causes them to do a really powerful move should you bother.

That's a perfectly reasonable approach, though. AoE does less damage than just attacking the boss with powerful single target attacks and is often less useful if the boss has low health.

It really depends on the game.
If they take a while to respawn, they may be worth killing. If the big boss spawns them endlessly whether there's already some out or not, you definitely should, assuming you can't speed-kill the big one.

Respawning minions are good to kill first if you know that they will respawn later in the fight and would otherwise waste your time needing to heal if you didn't just kill them.

Bosses usually move slow but deal alot of damage so I watch out for those big hits while fighting off the minions.
