I can fully understand the perception around Mack being garbage because he's a fucking ROLLERCOASTER of power spikes and power drops throughout the game, but Cooke's healing prowess can't be ignored. Cooke will single-handedly keep your ass alive against pic related.

Also, it's extremely unfair to call any non-immortal in Lost Odyssey "useless" when the entire game's mechanics are designed around leeching skills off your mortals to give to your immortals before eventually tossing said mortals to the side. In the context of their various forced outings throughout the story, I have to say that every single character in Lost Odyssey has solid usage and can hold their own quite well in their respective niches.

Swift Strike has higher damage, yes, there's no argument there since you aren't replacing it until endgame. But you need an accuracy buff for it to be reliable. And if it doesn't kill things, they can still hit back.

Most if not all midgame enemies are vulnerable to confusion and affected by physical, and Yusuke is perfectly set up to trash them with minimal resource usage and zero risk.

Doc is arguably the worst character in the game, because at least Pierre is Blue-Innate and has the Hero Sword later on to make him pretty beastly.

Doc has worthless stats and meh-to-bad Techs, and he shares a team with Serge (the best White-Innate character in the game) so he's not only terrible but he's also redundant.

Korcha and Mel are pretty shit, too, but at least Mel can steal shit for the five minutes you don't have Kid. Then there's fucking Poshul and Mojo, who are exclusively good for their having their Innate colors early, but that early colors barely matter anyhow and you find much better replacements by the time they do matter.

Draggy's pretty shit, too... but who doesn't want to use a baby dragon who can summon a mama dragon?

Kimahri is always behind no matter what you do with him. The game's easy enough for this not to really matter, but if we're talking actual functionality here he's only good for unlocks for other characters and stealing.

At least you learn Secondary Speed from her affinity quests and can use it on Cross.

It works very well alongside Smooth Recovery for constant heal/evasion or any other ranged weapon skills you wanna use like Ghost Factory.

She had a steep learning curve, but using her Earth attack to stun from far away and then whaling on stunned enemies always worked for me. Not to mention her Whirling Mace had pretty decent speed and didn't flinch when hit.

I usually let teammates distract enemies while I charged an attack and then unleashed on them while they were vulnerable. Even without Killshots Cinque can one shot most enemies.

All of Class Zero had the potential to be broken in one way or another, if used right.

Has higher strength than Ryuji and is only truly outclassed by him in the end game. Baton pass skills lets you do really good damage against certain stronger enemies in the game like Anubis. I do wish he wasn't outclassed in the end though.

Chu-Chu is an absolute monster. No other character has anything on her, she soloed endgame for me. No Gear will ever get as powerful as her.

Summons are essential to hard modes, and that combined with a hard stun makes him one of the best party members.

Assuming i didn't use hand built adventurers other than the MC, him+eder+hiravias+durance were pretty much essential to the hardest difficulty, especially down in the mega dungeon.

Guile is actually pretty mediocre, Fargo is mostly better than Kid, and Sprigg is blatantly overpowered for the entire time she's around. Her starter forms hit like a fucking truck and are hard to kill.
