I will probably buy the game but unlikely on the 2 expansions, the big expansion, and then more expansions after. They content pipeline needs to be there, and the quality of strikes should be high otherwise I would have no faith in buying more strikes.

I recommend Warlock as a first class, lots of fun with space magic, and the weapons are class locked. Only the gear (which you will rotate often).

Same group of chums from D1 preordered 2, I'm thinking of taking the plunge as well. I'm inevitably going to be playing it with them, a lot.

There's no semblance of an attempt at a story. PvP was so laggy that made multiplayer 4v4 instead of 6v6. Raids are good the first few times before becoming a repetitive chore. All other PvE is boring and uninteresting

I stuck with the game for a while. I did like it at first but after about two weeks it was a slow decent into pure hatred. I was on the forums the entire time, and pretty much every complaint to be had could be seen in there whenever someone finally got fed up and went on a tangent about what broke the camels back. The way the game makes you grind for shit is the main issue, which points to a broader issue of laziness/cutting corners on Bunjie's end.

The grind is a problem because what it boils down to is a WoW grind system slapped on top of a very empty halo game. Instead of a whole world of things to do, grind, fight in, etc, you have 4 halo missions and a raid. It's got weeklies thrown in there for the best gear, so even though there's only a tiny grain of content to grind, you're still going to be playing for months to get the best stuff. Also those shitty events that made you grind regular old story missions or crucible for event-exclusive gear. They took the abusive (grindy) part of MMO's that get people addicted for long stretches of time but left out the substance part that keeps people from cutting their faces off from sheer boredom. Just a completely and utter lack of content. People played it for a very long time, but had they just let them run raids as much as they wanted almost nobody would have been playing a month after launch.

I had D1 on Xbox and I'm getting 2 on PC, the whole "PC community is smaller" thing really isn't relevant in a game where you're mostly going to be playing with two friends against AI and a mix of friends and pubs against AI. And even the multiplayer is what, 8 people at most? You can find full games of CS:Source to this day and that's fragmented by servers.

Get whatever version you want, but avoiding PC because of "muh player count" is flat out retarded for this particular title

No, basically all mobs outside of specific enemies dies in a handful of shots or less depending on the weapon. A handcannon for instance OHKs most enemies. There are some with yellow health bars, and most enemies in raids will have yellow health bars, which gives them more health/damage resistance. For the most part, they still die easily if you do precision hits.

Kinda, non-exotics have no unique properties but that doesn't mean the gun is worthless/trash. Fire rate, impact/damage etc matters for PVP.

Yes, if you get a low level weapon, you can infuse it with higher level weapons to raise the level of the weapons. IE, you get a level 11 exotic and you can infuse it with higher level weapons to keep raising the weapon's level to the cap.

That is unless they changed how upgrading/infusing works.
