Mixture of several paths plus an open (and spacious!) area in mid, feels more like the Splat1 maps
Most of Splat2's map are incredibly crowded and full of useless props, this one instead is so refreshing

I actually really like all of the Splat2 maps. I think they are hectic in a good way and well balanced, but this is definitely the breath of fresh air that we needed. And it's a fantastic aesthetically too. Could not be more pleased with it

Don't get me wrong, I do like them individually, it just feels like when put together they're all too similar to one another.
(Excuse my shitty description) You get a starting ground, a second one, then a hallway like space and then the middle which tends to be raised a bit, which something to climb on/small walls on each side. I've checked with recon and most follow this formula.

My grip is mainly that S1 had a great variety, compare Mahi Mahi to Blackbelly for example, they have nothing alike, whereas in S2 I can barely differentiate them.

Tl;dr in my opinion Manta Maria added that uniqueness S2's maps where lacking as a whole

Manta Maria is definitely very good; visually the best map, potentially in the series.
Sloshing Machine is exceptional; got to Super Fresh pretty fast with it. Might be my go to Slosher for Tower Control now.
I went with Invisibility but it's not the Chad choice; Chad would pick flight to be like Superman. Invisibility is for betas that can't get women.

Rainmaker is really fun on it. There are a lot of paths to the goal, but the map is narrow enough that you can realistically, though with some difficulty, defend all the paths if your team is alive and attentive. And it's a relatively decent trek, with some vulnerability for the carrier, so one team wipe won't spell instant defeat.

The map actually seems great for all of the modes. It's probably tied with The Reef or pic related for my #1 spot

Learn how to use swimming effectively. Hold LT most of the time, and just hit RT when you're trying to shoot.

Manta Marina is a good-looking map with a good name, but I'm not wild about playing it. It's okay, but nothing special. It still feels cramped like all of the S2 maps. I'd probably rank it under Moray Towers and Port Mackerel.
