WC3 is a fun game to play, but its forever held back by being the game that shifted Blizzard's writing from 100% stolen to 50% stolen, 25% saturday morning cartoon plots, and 25% pseudo intellectual drivel. It would've been better for them to take what they had already, stolen or not, and expanded it in a sensible direction based on what was established. Instead they shit all over it with Metzen's... I don't even know what to call it. Bland, unadulterated garbage.
WC2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I distinctly remember popping in WC3 on launch, about as excited as humanly possible, and experiencing the utmost disappointment before completing the first level. The second Metzen suggested making the horde into a bunch of shamanistic native american placeholders, someone should've cracked him in the neck with a baseball bat and been done with that.
Again, we all know that WC 1&2 = Warhammer, Starcraft = Warhammer 40k, no secrets there, but the solution wasn't to toss the established plot into the trash and replace it with what wouldn't pass for shitty fanfiction in the WC2 days. And it only got worst from there.

The only thing Metzen is good at is artwork, he never should've moved past that for any reason.
