I just read the recent steam reviews for this and hundreds of people are downvoting saying they got banned for honking their horn at a streamer they were not aware of. I want to buy this game but I dont for the life of me want to support these moron devs, wat do?

Wait and see, if the developer will kill their own game before it's popularity passes normally.

>>388316704
Streamers are being special snowflakes. Car horns were recently added so people honked them at streamers, and they get banned for it.

>>
>>388317981
Those 700k peaks come from Korea.

The playerbase is split up by region, so westcucks don't get mixed in with them by default. There are 7 region servers.

Then, after that, the players on each region server are split up by their game mode. There are 6 game modes.

Then the players are matched together based on their hidden MMR. There are god knows who many MMR brackets; all you need is a similar MMR as your target.
>>
>>388318146
You get banned for hunting them down 5 matches in a row and leaving as soon as they die to hunt them down again by joining and leaving lobbies over and over again until you're in the same lobby they are. You won't get banned just because someone you happened to kill was a streamer.

Ok fuck sake I need this question solved right now as no one has ever given a good response.

In the rules it states:

Do not cheat: do not use third party programs, macros, client-side hacks, edited game files or anything else that may give you an unfair advantage in the game. This includes promoting or posting links to websites that provide or promote cheats or hacks.

>do not use third party programs,

Theory

So streamer runs into school, overlooks a lvl 3 helmet/bag/kevlar

Stream chat - "YOU MISSED IT GRIMMZ YOU SWEATY SPIC XD/KAPPA/LOOK ON FLOOR"

MrGrimmz the pablo goes back and picks up the armour and says "thanks guys"
This is using a 3rd party software to gain an advantage, and I have seen numerous streamers get help from chat, why is this not an immediate ban? Yet honking a horn or generally fucking around with a streamer is a ban?

My theory - Favouritism by Lead Dev

Because the GAME is already fair dipshit. Just because some retard wants to broadcast his every move in that game to the world for a few shekels has NOTHING to do with the fairness of the GAME.

If a poker player were constantly yelling out what his cards were would you kick people out for calling his bluffs?

The player isnt the one choosing to broadcast it in your example.
Also thats why the poker tournaments are that ARE live, are broadcast with significant delays often 8-10 minutes. (Pro-tip: doing that would solve literally every problem this current batch of crybabybitches are having) But MUH INTERACTIONS WITH MUH CHAT (read shekels) is what is holding them back in the game. But THEY could never possibly be at fault, so lets ban alleged "stream snipers" every time they die.
>>

>>
>>388323152
First of all, epic reaction images. But I don't see why you're taking the side of cheaters. Yes there are things you can do to prevent streamsniping but that would limit the streamer's freedom when it's the sniper who is in the wrong. Long delays make it impossible to interact with viewers for one. It's like if I some guy was waiting outside with a bat to beat you up the next time you went for groceries would your solution be to never go out again?

No, remove the cheaters and the problem is gone. There is literally no reason why honest pubg players would be upset about this. You're either a sniper yourself or some bored contrarian trying to create outrage out of nothing. Not sure which is worse.
>>
How long is the refund period? I feel like I'd need atleast 15-20min to set up my settings and I feel I'd need to play atleast 2-3 games to know wether to refund or not? I keep hearing 2 or 3 hours, which one is it?

They don't really get "hate", but there's no reason to defend them. The same point of view people take towards the streamers ("you're literally doing it to yourself by showing everyone where you are") can be applied to the stream snipers. They're literally doing it to themselves by violating the rules.

Even if the "no stream sniping" rule didn't exist, they're still using a third party program to gain an advantage over another player, which is against the rules. It's cheating, plain and simple. And if that's not enough, following another player between servers and hunting them down above all else will get you banned in other games for "griefing" and "harassment", both of which are also against PUBG's rules.
>>

The real issue I have with this whole thing is how the devs say they don't give anyone special treatment yet in the whole stream sniping ban, that's exactly what they're doing. The streamer willingly put their stream up for the public to see and if this aspect is exploited by 3rd parties, then they only have themselves to blame. The devs shouldn't be taking actions against this aspect of the since it lies beyond the game but since PUG's popularity exists because of streamers, they're giving these people the special treatment they said they don't give to anyone.
>>
>>388326253

If you're going to ban someone they'd better damn well be breaking the RULES instead of whatever nebulous bullshit the devs decide is the "spirit" of the game that week.

I agree that its a scummy thing to do, but calling it cheating, and suggesting that people be banned for breaking a rule that doesn't exist is absurd.

>its the seeker's fault some retard is live-streaming their hiding place.
Using this information is NOT a RULE, and is therefore NOT cheating

See how easy this is?

Bro I'm just trying to create content bro. I'm better than you. Now subscribe to the big dick mustache club for $15.99.
>>

Then streamers should not be able to have chat open. As I've seen people in chat point out enemy players and items. But nah it's free advertising so Its not cheating.

>b-but muh rules

Cheating is a catch all term for scummy behaviour that violates the spirit of the game. See, this is what's so fun about this whole controversy. Snipers (and more importantly their little fans like you) think that they are going to get off on technicalities. Like
>hehe what are they going to ban me for *honk* not like i'm technically breaking any rules right? i'm so sm-
>*banned*
>WTF?!?!?
>>
>>388319981
Hold up, I'll be right back.
>>
>>388323735
I refunded at 1:30 playtime. Lockout is over 2hrs played or 2 weeks owning game.
>>
>>388328491
Exactly so streamers should not be allowed the ability to use chat as its
1, third party software.
2. Chat gives out item and enemy locations
3, violates the spirit of the game and provides an unfair advantage to non streamers.
>>
>>388318398
What about those dumbasses stop streaming live then

Playground tier defence.
>>
>>388328026

of course thats what they'll fucking do.

itll never get out of early access.
>>
>>388328840
streaming isnt against the rules, cheating is

stream sniping is the modern day equivalent of screen looking, it's cheating
>>

>can't refute his argument

Kill yourself senpai.
>>
>>388329248
>stream sniping is the modern day equivalent of screen looking, it's cheating

Holy shit you are a tremendous pile of faggot.

Streaming is the modern day equivalent of taking your "screen" and saying HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT MY SCREEN! Then getting pissed when someone actually does

and again, all of this could be completely solved by streaming with a delay. But these faggots want their shekels too much, so they bitch and moan about people using publicly available information to kick their shit in.
>>
>Kill random person
>Banned for Stream Sniping
>Honk car horn at friends
>Banned for Stream Honking
>Leave game to avoid streamers
>Banned for Stream Leaving

Such is modern gaming
>>
>>388329625
totally this
>>
>>388329625
its literally against the rules to look at the streamers screen and use that information against him

it is not against the rules to stream
>>
>>388319312
Is this why so many games never leave early access
>>
>>388316220
All you need to do is be a popular streamer, then you gain protected status.
>>
>>388330097
I paid $30 for the game " Nether ". I Was skeptical of every buying early access since then.
>>
>>388330042
So as long as I have a stream no one can kill me?
>>
>>388330221
Nether is far worst than PUBG.

Because it was shitty since the start.
>>
>>388329625
this is true you know

If its all that simple surely you wouldnt mind pointing out which rule?

They can, but they'll be banned shortly after for committing such an atrocity.

>>388330290
Oh I know. The reason why I want PUBG is because I like H1Z1 and I know PUBG is better. Nether was just horrible in so many ways.

Is there any proof that they're being banned from streamers?
I know it happened that one time, but ever since then /v/ makes it sound like it's happening every game.
>>
>>388323665
If you got robbed because you left the door unlocked the criminal is at fault but you'd still be a fucking dumbass.
>>
>>388316704
>>388317405
Instead of straight-up stream sniping, people like to track down popular streamers and just hang around in the general vicinity honking their really loud horns and trying to use the threat of running them over to herd them into hiding in safety, preferably with multiple people in multiple cars. The goal is more or less to maximize the amount of time their stream is forced to be nothing but them camping in a house listening to all the horns blasting outside while they try to deal with the problem by shooting from a window or something, it's pretty funny to see but probably not worth the effort of trying to set it up.
