Although Metal Gear's case is convoluted as hell, PC and Xbox got MGS2, but the brands didn't get another game for at least a decade, Game Cube got a remake of MGS1, with Nintendo only getting another Metal Gear for 3DS years later.

For Konami, MGS on other platforms seemed like an one off thing, rather than trying to test the waters.
