Honestly I think above everything else it's the character designs. When you make a "hero shooter" you have to make appealing looking characters. Battleborn had the same problem.

Game should've been 60 dollars instead of 30. Before you scream "reeee Jew pricing" or call me a publisher remember that consumers link brand quality to pricing. Gaming audience sees a 60 dollar game as one having more content and polish than a 30 dollar one because the price is reflect the quality (even though that's often not the case) by having it f2p it would've painted the image that the game would've been freemium garbage filled with micro trans and at 30 dollars people would think it's some fancy indie game or one of low quality to triple A titles even though it's not. If the fans of the game truely wanted to buy and play it they would've spent money on the game whether it be 30 or 60 dollars. If it came out f2p the results would most likely have been similar
