I did everything I possibly could at every single point, wandering around like crazy whenever possible to try to get all the scenes because I heard you could unlock an optional endgame dungeon with super bosses. I missed out on said secret endgame dungeon and bosses because I missed something like a single scene that they made incredibly easy to miss. There is no closure.

Legend of Mana is kind of an anomaly in the series. It's a beautiful game (in game-design I mean), pretty simple, but trying to explore all the space opened by its base elements.
I'm a huge fan myself and highly recommend it, but it's not for everyone.
Definitely feels like a Kawazu game on some respects.

If you play only one, play Seiken Densetsu 3. That's the master work of the group. There's a translation patch available nowadays. Easy to find and inexpensive.
