establishes the crisis facing Tokyo as an actual crisis. Riots occur, citizens are shown mulling around in the hundreds, the entire situation is clearly shown for the powder keg it is thanks to the lack of supplies and solutions. 2 makes it seem like maybe 3 dozen people survive the apocalypse but keep telling me there are a lot of people SOMEWHERE that are really suffering but doesn't show them.

honestly just about everything else. Gameplay was much refined and the balance overall was much better. I like the characters more in 2 which is impressive considering how many more there are, even if some of them are trying way to hard to be assholes (yamato and keita can eat a bag of dicks, I was so happy to fucking Phys their asses to death). Bosses are still a mess in that special SMT way in that they get all the cool toys like 15 extra moves and 42 range and you get to eat shit. I also feel like 2 did a better job of giving me the resources to actually field 4 characters with decent demons as opposed to 1 which seem to expect me to be able to field 4 but only giving me the resources to give decent demons to 3.

I'd say 1 is better overall, story, setting.
I really did like 2 as well, but Ronaldo and Daichi's routes were pure garbage. I'd place it higher otherwise.
Both games' extra days in the remakes were pretty bad. It's no good to go back and change the ending when the plot was neatly resolved in the first place. Yuzu became true neutral and basically pissed on Haru and Atsuro's much better endings, while Yamato and Ronaldo have complete personality shifts to justify the events in Triangulum.

Replaying Overclocked I she never really "Picked" fights.
Only one I recall her starting was with Kaido on who could beat the most demons. Every other time it was either someone want's to kill you for being demon tamers, saving people, or demons just being demons.

Also she some what grows a spine by Beldr or at least finding the exit with Izuna.
She still wants to escape but is fine with fighting by that point. I found she wasn't as vocal about constantly wanting to escape but still wanted to for her endgame no matter what.
I'd say she regresses extremely about wanting to escape by the last day though.

Again recently replaying the game but the only time I recall this is during moments like when he suggested using the demons rather than sending them back. Which from a perspective of someone who didn't want them in the first place and what they caused seems entirely reasonable. I can understand some hate for Yuzu but I find she's like the seemingly sane/realistic person of the cast and can't bring myself to hate her.

The Septentriones may have been Angel knock offs but every day in 2 had major plot significance and a major goal to work towards. 1 was a more SMT story but It's actual story beats where pretty dry up until near the end

Well even before the route split it just seemed like not a lot of anything was happening till the last day. You'd get some vague meaningless fluff about needing food once and then you where set forever then you'd need batteries and then it was a non issue forever.

Shit was getting cool when the first Bel was shaking things up but after that they don't make a major appearance again for a while and you meet them in the same fight you kill them. Bel seemed like a meaningless title just to give a boss battle at the end.

the septentriones weren't all winners but the ones that where felt like there was a lot happening and lot at stake. Mizer's day was fantastic.

Record Breaker is one of my favorite remakes of all time and one of my favorite games overall.
