When the future was looking bleak for the Primate Alliance, certain groups started questioning whether the war could truly be won. One specific group, the Manky Kongs, began to prioritize the survival of their kind alone, resulting in a rebellion against the Primate Alliance. The Alliance did not forgive them for this and the Manky race remained Kong Family rejects throughout history. While uncertain, it is speculated something similar may have happened with the Minkeys.

It is unknown how Lanky Kong, being a reject orangutan, was accepted into the Kong Family later on. It's possible that he was too young to be involved in the betrayal, or he was more close with the main family of Kongs.

I don't think Lanky was alive during THAW, but then again, we don't know his age.

I think it's safe to say Tiny is the same species of ape as Candy since they share the same body structure and both have titties. So, Diddy and Dixie are the same species as well. But, if Diddy is Donkey's nephew, how come he looks nothing like him? Diddy looks closer to Cranky.
Is Donkey... adopted? It would explain a lot. No one knows who Donkey's father is. Presumably he went missing during the war. Only his ''grandpa'' Cranky and his ''nephew'' Diddy remain alive. Could it be that Donkey was orphaned during the war and Cranky took on the role of his grandfather out of pity?

Lanky and Manky never participated in the war! They are women, so they never got drafted. However, Many is clearly damaged from being captured by the Primate Alliance warriors and very likely raped and beaten for who knows how long.
Lanky, being only a child at the time, suffered huge trauma which damaged her so badly that her psyche started to regress back to that of a child. This is evident from her childlike behavior.
Everything we thought we knew has been flipped upside down.
