I initially thought this game would be a no-effort trash crossover, but after watching a few LP episodes, it actually looks pretty good. The animations are top notch, gameplay looks competent, I'm guessing it'll get at least an 80 metascore.

I dunno, I expect a lot from it. At the same time, it's Ubisoft, which kind of makes me want to be weary, but at the same time, the one behind this game literally cried his eyes out. I know there has to be some kind of passion in this game, even if little, so I'm betting on something between 85 to 91, possibly inching towards 90 (89?). Everything about the game feels refreshing, the music seems amazing, Grant really put himself out there, the animations feel lively and even though I know it's Rabbids (but honestly have no real beef against them), it's like this fresh breath of air we haven't had for a while for the Mushroom Kingdom. Even the game itself feels like, if you're not exactly speeding through it, it can definitely take a while to finish a particular part. Knowing it gets particularly challenging for some makes me hope they know what they're doing and did put some legitimate challenge to the game without it being this utterly shallow difficulty.

I don't know why, I kinda want this game to do well. But I also feel like it'll be easily overshadowed by Odyssey and the amount of awards and good to decent criticisms it'll inevitably hoard.

It's confirmed 4 (though I remember hearing the worlds get longer throughout the game and they seem, at least, two hours on average). The only world we haven't seen at all is the Lava Pits and the only unknown boss that can't be easily guessed is the Spooky Trails midboss.
All the footage released today only goes up to the second half of Sherbet Desert, but some people showed off the boss.

It's said in one of the Sherbet Desert cutscenes that the Megabug gets stronger with each Rabbid defeated which seems to be setting up Junior abusing Spawny's powers and promptly getting Eggman'd. The weapon descriptions confirm that the bug is most likely the final boss

I'm not entirely sure it was a piranna plant but the way it appears is as follow: a rabbid (yoshi i think?) was sitting on a green pipe, suddenly tentacles (plant tentacles) slowly came out of the green pipe to suck in the rabbid and what came out was a plant creature that was using a toilet-door as a shield

Having seen some interesting bits, these spoilers might be a possibility for the end game (just throwing out of random, spoilers are spoilers, none of them I'm actually certain of, seriously, don't take these seriously or snoop if you're trying to avoid spoilers)

- Game ends at Lava Pits, Bowser Jr. either being mid-boss or final boss (alongside Megabug)
- Game ends at Lava Pits, Bowser Jr. is either a mid-boss or helps final boss, very small chance of Bowser making a return, being influenced by Megabug (Bowser+Rabbid fusion?)
- Game ends at Lava Pits, Bowser Jr. either being mid-boss or final boss (alongside Megabug) but, Megabug might actually spawn a entirely new kind of final boss that doesn't directly involve Bowser Jr. or Bowser)

You didn't hear it from me and take it with a very heavy grain of salt, but one dude in a interview (there's a video on Youtube, I'm not sure how legit this guy is) asked the creative director a honestly kinda dumb question going like "Is there any resemblance of Pink Gold Peach in this game" and while he blatantly said no, he did also say something in the vein of "there's definitely some surprise between the two Peachs". Whether that's something incredibly minor or not, not sure. But who knows.

Then again, this might just end up being a very light-hearted game with a simple predictable story so probably nothing too big. There might be more possibilities out there, but I'd have to reach very far to even get there.

They probably mean conservative in terms of the somewhat bland play-it-safe kind of way Nintendo's approached Mario's world. Samey, safe, and as many recognizable objects and themes as possible. Like how Shiggy fucked up Paper Mario by forcing the plot and world to be less experimental. Throwing in the lolsorandom Rabbids in there can mix things up, is I think what they're trying to get at.

Regular Mario enemies appear as stage hazards or in backgrounds (Chain Chomps and Boos as hazards, Goombas in the background of the Ancient Gardens, surprisingly no koopas).
Toadette is the only character outside the four heroes and Bowser Jr. to appear (Donkey Kong gets a doppelganger in Rabbid Kong, but it's never explained if Rabbid Kong is a fused Donkey Kong or something different).
