Let's face the facts here, the only reason anyone likes a particular platform over the other these days is because of brand loyalty, that's it. There were noticeable differences between consoles like Genesis, Neo Geo, SNES, and PC Engine. But now there's virtually none. Maybe a margin of difference in performance, certain features like Share Play, and an exclusive or two.

Every console has an attractive trait which will always stick to it. For Sony it has people remembering the ps2 days and some of those jap games. For Nintendo it's the fact their consoles are always iconic and to some extent gimmicky but that's why people love Nintendo alongside their iconic platformers and mini games. For Xbox it has always had this association with pc because of Windows and it's been known to have the most power from the og xbox to the 360. Not sure how to respond to that. It's neither smart or dumb. Sony literally fit a PS1 inside a PS2, and then literally fit a PS2 inside a PS3. The market proved that they'd rather not pay $50 to $100 extra just to play old games on a new system, so Sony dropped physical BC on further revisions of the console, and it sold better from thereafter. In Sony's case it was worth to not support BC, because the market doesn't want it (voted with their wallet). PS4 doesn't have physical BC, was sold at a good price ($100 less than its competition) and sold like hotcakes. Don't see anything wrong here.

In Nintendo's case it was only a matter of convenience. GC/Wii/WiiU all share the same architecture, so having physical BC doesn't even add any extra cost. Now that the Switch finally changed its insides, physical BC is no longer economically viable so they too dropped it.

MS never ever had physical BC unlike the other two. Only emulated (I remember playing Halo2 on 360 and the shit framerate, it was horrible). They are now heavily investing in emulated BC because they need something to focus on other than exclusives (which they can't seem to get) and for good PR after the 2013 disaster. It's mostly a just marketing stun that, as the image of my previous post shows, no one uses. So it's smart for MS to push this.

Neither side is wrong, they all have their own reasons for doing it or not doing it.

No way you'll ever get 30fps at 4k with that build, unless you literally turn the shadows on and set everything to low. You would have to double your fps compared to the Ultra settings.

I can tell you don't actually play the game, stop stealing screenshots from other people. Had you actually played the game, you would have known how unstable the fps is and how drastically it can dip in urban environments. If you're getting 30fps with mostly foliage on screen, you would get well below that in urban environments. Stable 30fps on medium is impossible with a shit card like fury.

The game's UE4, the most demanding settings are the post processing and shadows, everything else makes a pretty negligible difference.
4k medium is easily achievable on a Fury, though it's not on a 580, which is already slightly better than what's in the XB1X.
