I bought Splatoon in the first place because the Slosher looked like far more fun than water guns only the game. And I've stuck with the Slosher and its cousins since they launched. Against good players you have to predict their movement; they react too fast to the first hit, hell it's hard to hit the truly good S+ players at all. Trislosher despite the memes requires you to be on top of someone to use the spread correctly. Certainly works great against lesser players whom tend to stand their ground but good players specifically move outside the Trislosher's max range and then kill you.

This is just not correct. Hitting anyone at all with any part of the spread 2 shots them, I believe it does 62 damage on the dummies int he test zone. That's one top of there being no RNG spread like other 2 shot guns such as the 52 gal and being loaded with one of the best kits. The idea that it's a fair weapon is retarded.

What drinks actually do is turn your worn gear's preferred skill into what the drink is. Wearing something like Splash Mob gear that favors Ink Main Up and drinking a Ink Main Up drink does nothing for increased chances. Evidently drinks have no effect on Splatfest shirts either.
