Nah. I played Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC a few months ago and I really liked it, but Uncharted is just much better. The gunplay is better and more fluid, the climbing mechanics are much smoother (Rise's shimmying felt clunky and limited), the set pieces were better and the story and characters were better. Rise had better graphics but that's about it. The open world aspect and distinct lack of globetrotting (every level felt the same) really diminished the game.

I really didn't like the gunplay in Rise, just the way Lara held the gun irked me and felt off for some reason. Rise is better than Uncharted 1, but 2 and 4 are better and it's not close. Never played 3.

most modern female characters are boring, everything is given to them, yet they still tend to be bitchy or irreverent, everybody has to emotionally validate them as soon as they enter the room, "anything you can do, I can do better", and if they struggle they have to let everyone know that they struggled at all times. Old Lara had strands of this type of character but without the baggage of sjw agenda attached to it.

Even new Lara has been slightly affected by this due to the new writer and I guess the changing times has that effect on everything, though thankfully she didn't turn her full on modern female character, maybe it's because Lara has legacy traits that always have to be included and they still have to reflect that somehow, idk, but thankfully she wasn't turned. specially in Rise, the whole reason Lara is in that mess is because of her own fuck up and because she has daddy issues that she wrestles with through out the game and wants to honor/redeem the croft name. Most of story is still awful because the writer can't write for shit but there's good character moments for Lara, usually when she's alone or reminiscing about her dad, but the "get the source and who is the prophet and trinity this, trinity that" shit is just boring dribble.
I love when she gets excited when analyzing trinkets and stuff, you can hear the passion in her voice. I'm guessing these bits aren't written by the main writer and are instead added by CD, though I'm just speculating here.

I'll admit, new lara isn't perfect, she's very vulnerable compared to core or legend lara, but in a sea of ugly STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS, it's nice to see her be the one that's not the sjw stereotype that every character must follow nowadays, and I like that, I like that she isn't perfect in that regard even if she can be perfect on other things or is on that path, but I like that even the famous Lara Croft can still fuck up, sorta like when batman started and he was tripping over and shit.
