The trees and the grass are the same color in the new one, looks really bad. The sky texture being removed is a huge deal, changes the entire scene.

pic above looks better,only excited because i bugged the game like 4 times in the tutorial and dropped it the last time i played. The other times it were bugs too but nothing as major as the last time where i literally clipped 4 times in a row through a wall. Oh and performance is important so only bc of these two sthings

I already played this game.

It's like that remake of hl1 that came out well after i beat the game dozen times. I guess it's for people new to daggerfall? even with the graphics aside, i feel like they're going to be disappointed.

I am, but only for better engine. OpenMW is going great,they even got multiplayer working now

I've played what's made so far and it seems promising. The landscape looks very pretty, but no doubt it will lose some of its charm e.g. skybox in OP
It'd be nice to see them take a few creative liberties here and there, like improving the GOD AWFUL procedural dungeons outside of the main quest.

I'm thinking about playing Daggerfall. Is it fun? How's the spell crafting? Can i summon creatures?

Anyone here remember DaggerXL? Dev was making great progress with his own non-unityshit engine, then he made one last post in July 2016 and hasn't been heard from since.

Shame since it looked pretty good.

Author is planning to make the game highly moddable, so if you want the scenery back, I'm pretty sure there will be a mod for that.

It's pretty open, the random quests and dungeons are mostly ass and everything is spread out to a rediculous degree. Even after fast travel most of the time is spent walking and lost in dungeons at least in the early game. I'm sure it gets better but certain parts pissed me off so much I dropped it.

It's a bit staggering how the higher resolution just makes it look like Minecraft.

In the original, the lack of detail is excusable because there literally aren't enough pixels for much detail. In the remake, the lack of detail just stands out because of the high resolution.
