Serious question, how do I make Puyo Puyo fun?
I've learned Tetris just fine, without forcing myself whatsoever, but I can't do the same thing for Puyo.
I want to learn it, so I won't be total scrub in story mode/swap mode but at the same time I don't really wanna play it.
I started playing Chronicle, and that's kind of fun but I can barely pull off a 3 chain when I'm battling and the lack of a translation really kills it for me.

Those are all the ones that have english versions.
Fever and Tetris were released in english with dubs, Puyo Pop in english with no dub, and the rest are from translation patches. Most of them were released on a wide range of consoles but only one version actually got a patch.

Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary and Puyo Puyo Fever 2 are also very good but have no patch.

I started with Fever, but I'd say they're all good games. If you can read Japanese definitely try 20 though.

Not really. I can still appreciate the differences in plenty of girls. Even in Puyo Puyo. Like how Raffina and Rulue both fit very similar niches, but there's still subtle differences that'd make me pick Raffina over Rulue. Accord however is just too cute and very attractive to me. I respectfully disagree. The garbage blocks are easy yeah, but what I mean is the chain and combo setup that requires quick thinking before time resumes. With Puyo, you have a glimpse of whats coming down but with Tetris attack you can actually do some cool advance techniques.

And yeah puyo is obviously the more popular of the two but I'm talking about personal experiences, not sales.

In addition to those games, there's also a pc fangame called Puyo Puyo VS 2 that's good for netplay. I wouldn't suggest playing ranked there though, it only has good players.

The only person I can play together with is that guy that losses almost instantly to a 4-chain, so I get kinda bored of being so lenient and not being able to git gud properly just so he can practice a bit his chains, everyone else I know hates the game for some reason and just refuses to play more than 2 matches at most

I wanna see a puyo puyo action game. Enemies would spawn (or be) puyo, and you charge up your spells by popping them, with more powerful abilities if you pop a whole bunch in a short period of time or make chains (with the most powerful only available through a chain). You deal damage to enemies with the spells to defeat them, but if you get hit by their attacks or crushed by their puyo you take damage. Also, there'd be hidden secrets you'd have to find by stacking puyo without popping them, or popping puyo next to garbage puyo, or whatever.

Which version of Fever should I play?
