I pirated it because I noticed a tonne of people's Steam reviews rapidly changing from negative to positive.

I've now put in around 50 hours. It's actually good now and I'm honestly amazed that they didn't give up.

I'd buy it but I cannot forgive what they did in the first place.

seems they just gave you a different way to mine the same resources. and the quests are "go mine this" how is this "good now"?

>you can purchase freighter ships which are supposedly ( i don't own one yet) portable bases where you can build rooms etc and massive storage spaces, you can make your freighter jump to planet you're currently on to have that storage etc nearby. seems sweet to me and i'm building up my funds to get one myself.

so the latest patch also added quests given to you from space stations. an npc is sitting there and you can pick up quests like a message board.
all of these changes have created a much more directed experience. you can still go around playing how it used to be played, or enjoy a more directed experience, go find resource X and return home sorta deal.
there's land vehicles too which are required for mining certain resources and they do help with planetary exploration.

Literally everything, now they just have to add a real multiplayer and enhance procedural generation for everything because it stills lack some variety when you have been playing for 200hrs; probably next update.

They really need to remake how refueling the farming bays go. Hold E to refuel would be fine, but as it is going into a menu and then going to the refuel option is just tedious. I assume it's to make farming more a hassle to make up for the money gained?
